DCCDC Explores Merger with Mental Health Consortium

The DCCDC has begun "exploratory" talks with the Chair of the Mental Health Consortium to discuss merging the two entities. "This only makes sense," says Amy Mosher-Garvey, Chair of the DCCDC.  "Combining mental health and substance use disorders treatment into one integrated service delivery model is something that is happening at all levels of treatment delivery and governance."

Combining the two entities presents mostly administrative challenges, and the benefits are many. Stay tuned for more news on this effort.

MESSAGE FROM DCCRAA:

Dear Colleagues,

The DCCRAA  has become very concerned about the proliferation of liquor licenses in Dane County as Walgreen's now has a corporate policy to secure as many as possible nationally.  They have been very busy in Dane County.  We have worked in Oregon (WI) to stop the proliferation in that municipality.  The licensing entity did not grant a license to Walgreen's in that municipality.  To the Coalition, it is an issue of density and of further normalization of availability and consequent messages to children/youth.
